You don’t have a breadmaker? Well try this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003GXM0EM/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B003GXM0EM&linkCode=as2&tag=theurbanchef-20&linkId=e0cafd7b75d407cd70b968fb6925696c

Recipe:

1 Lbs Precooked Chicken

1 Medium Potato Parboiled

1 Stick Butter

½ Medium Onion

½ Cup all purpose flour

2 Cups Chicken Broth

1 Cup Whole Milk

1/2 Teaspoon Pepper

1/2 Teaspoon Paprika

1/2 Teaspoon Thyme

1/2 Teaspoon Ground Garlic

1 Teaspoon all purpose seasoning

1 ½ Cups Peas and Carrots Mix

1 Egg

1 Teaspoon water (for the egg wash)

Bake at 375 °F for 45 to 60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Instructions:

Step 1

Parboil potatoes. You need to peel them and cut them down to about 3/4 to 1 inch cubes. Rinse and boil until firm and tender, you want them to stay in one piece when mixing the ingredients. Depending on the size and the temperature you boil them at, it should take approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Once they are cooked, drain and set aside.

Step 2

Add about half of a medium yellow onion, diced. Sauté the onion to translucent, make sure the butter doesn’t brown. If it does start to, turn the heat down.

Step 3

Add the all-purpose flour, stirring it well, and working out all the lumps. This is the beginning of your gravy. Cook for about 30 seconds on medium to medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the broth. Keep stirring.

Step 5

Add the whole milk.

Step 6

While starting to bring to a low boil, add your seasonings.

Step 7

Once it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and add the Chicken, Potatoes, Peas and Carrots mix. Fold together carefully as you don’t want to mash the potatoes.

Step 8

Fill the Pie shell. You can make your own crust or use a store-purchased crust. When sealing the top crust fold over the lower shell onto the top shell to limit leaking during baking. Brush with egg wash after sealing and cutting vents for steam.

Bake and Enjoy
